Description

Primary Responsibility: Assisting customers at Natorp’s Nursery Outlet as dynamic sales associate and customer service provider. 

 

Reports to:  Tina Hines

 

Seasons of Operation:

 

Spring: 3/25-6/21

            Wednesday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm 

           

Fall: 9/3-10/18

            Thursday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm 

           

Primary Responsibility:

  • To share Natorp’s knowledge, expertise, and passion for plants with every customer
  • To provide service that is unexpected, intuitive, and personalized so that every visitor feels special
  • To make every visitor passionate about Natorp’s by going one step further in offering an exceptional and memorable experience that is without equal in the gardening industry

 

Responsibilities

 

            Customer Satisfaction and Quality Service  

 

  • Greeting and welcoming visitors and customers
  • Assisting and advising customers with plant and hard good questions and selections
  • Delivering exceptional personal customer service
  • Resolving or referring customer concerns or complaints according to established procedures.
  • Assisting with activities, events, and special promotions as needed

 

 

Operational Standards Responsibilities

 

  • Support and assist the full-time staff in ensuring that safety, security, health, facilities, repair, and environmental standards are met daily. 
  • Notifying the full-time staff promptly with any safety or operational concerns
  • Providing the full-time staff with feedback on procedures and customer service concerns

 

Requirements

 

  • A thorough understanding of horticulture and product knowledge as it relates to the NNO operation
  • The willingness to share horticultural knowledge with customers and co-workers
  • The ability to demonstrate professional behavior under pressure
  • A willingness to assist with stocking and with display maintenance

Auxiliary Tasks As Needed

Assisting with merchandising displays

Attending weekly staff meetings

Assisting with shut down/start up if asked

Assisting with inventory if asked

Watering

Cleaning plants, displays

Monitoring product quality, stock levels, and signage needs

Other duties as assigned

 

 

Work Environment

Work is performed in a greenhouse, which during both seasons may get very hot.
