Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-driven, hands-on Grower Assistant to support our pot‑in‑pot tree production program. This role is ideal for someone with nursery or horticultural experience who wants to deepen their technical skills, take ownership of production areas, and work closely with an experienced Lead Grower.
This is a working grower role—you’ll directly influence crop quality, production efficiency, and day‑to‑day execution.
What You’ll Do
- Planting & Layout — Execute planting, spacing, alignment, and block layout with precision in pot‑in‑pot systems
- Production Workflow — Support daily workflow and assist in coordinating seasonal and full‑time labor
- Irrigation Oversight — Monitor drip/micro systems, identify issues, and assist with troubleshooting and repair
- Nutrient & Crop Protection — Apply fertilizers and crop protection products following plans and safety standards
- Tree Training — Prune, stake, and train trees to meet structural and market-ready specifications
- Inventory & Tagging — Assist with tagging, inventory accuracy, and order readiness
- Crop Monitoring — Observe plant health and communicate irrigation, pest, or growth concerns
- Site Maintenance — Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years in nursery production, tree production, or commercial horticulture
- Experience with container or pot‑in‑pot systems
- Exposure to irrigation management, plant nutrition, or IPM
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of irrigation, fertilization, and basic pest management
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically active work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to crop quality
- Dependable, team-oriented, and receptive to direction
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn

Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
